fishing yellow perch
Why has my luck in fishing drastically gone down?

2 weeks ago I caught 4 bass and a couple of yellow perch while my friend caught 3 pickerel including a 24 incher. It’s been about 14 days since then and I’ve gone fishing at the same spot 6 times with absolutely no luck. I’ve used everything from husky jerks to soft baits to banjo minnows. All the fish were released quickly without significant damage when they were all caught a couple weeks ago. The weather has been a little rainy but other than that, normal and hot. I was wondering if anybody could tell me why I’m not catching anything. I’ve had luck almost everytime I went before that time 2 weeks ago. Fishing just isn’t fun when they’re not biting. I thought bass and pickerel were more active as the water warmed up as it has these past two weeks. This spot is in a stream that’s probably 75 feet wide and at least 10 feet deep in the middle. It is flowing lightly because there is some water flowing out of the dam. Thanks for the help.

I don’t know where you’re at, bass could be on their summer pattern or on their spawning pattern. If I must guess, I’d say they are on their summer pattern already. When the days are very warm, bass fishing could be a hit or miss thing. Bass could could suspend in mid water column and they could hunt in packs. Also, they will move very frequently. This is why you must cover a lot of water and use search baits such as spinners and crankbaits. When you found one bass, there is a chance that you also found a small pack. Being stationary around several usual spots won’t work that great anymore. Being mobile and covering a lot of water is the way to go.

Tuna Fishing Ban, Another ‘Muscle-Flexing’ of the Big Countries?

The ban on fishing tuna would greatly affect the livelihood of thousands of people depending on these fishes. Governments of small countries like the Philippines, FS of Micronesia, Vanuatu, etc. would have nowhere to go but to ‘bow’ their heads again and just make a sigh on orders by these large, rich nations to stop the fishing of tuna for 2-years. What now for these small fishermen/traders?

They are going to rise the prices of tuna and lower the amount of tuna they are selling. They have banned it because tuna are becoming extinct very quick and we must stop eating so many of them.
